This gum-resin from Africa, extracted from the Commiphora myrrha, is a key ingredient in fumigation. Its complex fragrance, which combines fruity and amber notes, has been valued for thousands of years, so much so that it can be found in the Bible alongside incense. Used as a fixative in perfumes, its lingering finish is essential in oriental accord.

Origin: Somalia, North-East Africa.

Instructions for use: As fumigation in an incense burner or on embers. As alcoholic macerate to produce tincture and use in perfumery.
